Women’s Healing Sanctuary has recently hosted a series of transformative Women’s Grief Sessions, offering women a safe and nurturing space to explore, express, and move through their grief. Guided by experienced facilitators, Mandy Cox and Janine Hanna, these sessions have focused on honouring each woman’s unique journey, fostering connection, and building resilience within a compassionate community.

Outcomes from Recent Sessions

Rest, Reflection, and Renewal

  • Each session provided an opportunity for women to rest from daily pressures, reflect on their personal experiences of loss, and begin the process of renewal.
  • Women who attended reported feeling less isolated in their grief, finding comfort in the shared stories and mutual support offered by the group.

Exploring the Phases of Grief

  • The light-touch sessions reflected on the different phases of grief, helping women understand the complexity and non-linear nature of the grieving process.
  • Through guided conversations and reflective exercises, the women gained insight into the purpose and function of grief, learning that it is a natural response to any significant loss or change.

Personal Growth and Community Support

  • Many women discovered new ways to support themselves and others as they navigated change, loss, and emotional upheaval.
  • The sense of community was a recurring theme, with participants expressing gratitude for the opportunity to connect with others who understand their journey.
